About Beautiful Chaotic Mess

Beautiful Chaotic Mess began with a simple belief:

Imperfect things can still be wonderful.

Life is rarely neat or predictable. It can be joyful, exhausting, colourful, heartbreaking and full of unexpected twists. Somewhere amongst all that chaos, creativity has always been my way of making sense of the world.

I'm Sadie Barrow, an illustrator, author and maker based in the beautiful Rame Peninsula in Cornwall. Whether I'm painting, writing, creating handmade gifts or dreaming up magical adventures, every piece I make starts with a story.

Nothing here is mass-produced. Some things are a little wonky. Some ideas take unexpected turns. Every item is created with care, curiosity and a love of making something meaningful.

Beautiful Chaotic Mess is home to my illustrations, books, handmade creations and the little moments of wonder that inspire them.
